Bank of Trenton

Jan. 1, 1856

The bank was organized as a free bank in 1857 and remained in business until 1859 (possibly a bit later) before closing. This $1 design features a river rafting scene flanked by the state banking die and a vignette of Ceres kneeling by a Native American woman. Very rare: only aware of two or possibly three examples of this design at present.
