$5 North Providence Bank, RI, Proof About Uncirculated
This bank was incorporated in 1834, located in Pawtucket, a town within North Providence. While the bank survived two wars and a number of financial panics, it failed in 1867. The note bears the seldom seen imprint of Terry, Pelton & Co. Prov(idence) & Boston. It also features the historic vignette depicting Oliver Hazard Perry transferring his flag from his damaged flagship, Lawrence, to the Niagara during the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813.
