R.M. Bowne, Glen Cove

1862

Long Island scrip notes are infrequently seen, particularly from Nassau County. Glen Cove was a mansion-laden locale favored by the ultra-wealthy during the mid-1800s and decades to follow. The note features a large green protector with seated liberty coin designs. At the lower left are various goods, including sugar and tea. At the lower right is a steamer ship.
