This vignette was apparently an unadopted design done by Danforth Wright & Co. that is an absolute stunner, with a detailed view of a wharf lined with steamboats as far as the eye could see complemented by a vignette of a leather dresser and an oval portrait of John O’Fallon.
Add a red overall tint and large dark red TEN protector, this note is as close to perfection as it gets.
A single uncut sheet of four appeared as Lot 869 in the 1990 ABNCo Archive sale. It is likely there are few, if any, additional examples.
The additional vignette shows the same harbor scene, yet from the other end.
