PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ, Biddeford, Proprietary Proof
The bank was in operation from 1847 until 1865 when it became the Biddeford National Bank. The $2 has a fantastic allegorical vignette of Aurora in a cart pulled by horses surrounded by allegorical maidens and being led by a cupid with a torch. The note also has an oval vignette of an early steamer and a large 2 protector. This is a modern proprietary proof printed by ABNCo from the original plate in the 20th century for various corporate purposes and programs.
