There are many Proofs of the lower denominations of this enterprise, but this is the first time that a $500 Proof has graced our halls. A look through the catalogue of the ABNCo archives auction of September 1990 finds that only two Proof sheets in the $100-$100-$500-$1000 configuration were available to bidders.
